CHARLOTTE – Capitol Broadcasting Company announced that it has agreed to the sale of its two Charlotte-area television stations, WJZY and WMYT, to Fox Television Stations Inc.

WJZY is a CW affiliated station located in Belmont.

WMYT is the My Network affiliated station located in Rock Hill, S.C.

Both stations broadcast their singal from a transmitter and tower located in Dallas, N.C.

The sale is subject to FCC approval, according to the Capital Broadcast Company’s press release.

WJZY signed on March 9, 1987 as an independent station. It was acquired by Capitol on Nov. 23, 1987.

WMYT signed on Oct. 21, 1994 as an independent station. It was acquired by Capitol on March 28, 2000.
