DAVIDSON – Davidson College men's basketball head coach Bob McKillop announced that Joe Aase (Austin, Minn./Austin), Jack Gibbs (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville North) and Andrew McAuliffe (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) have signed National Letters of Intent to join the Wildcat's program in 2013-14.



“We are delighted that Joe, Jack and Andrew will be joining our program,” said McKillop. “They are competitive, coachable, skilled and understand the team concept quite well. They are also superb student-athletes.”

Joe Aase

6-8, 210, Forward

Austin, Minn./Austin High School

High School Accomplishments

A 2012 preseason all-state selection… As a junior, averaged 15.4 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game, while shooting 42 percent from behind the arc.

Named first-team all-conference following his sophomore and junior campaigns for Coach Kris Fadness.

Earned honorable mention all-state recognition a year ago.

In 2011-12, led Austin High to a 20-5 overall record and its first State Tournament appearance in 30 years.

Jack Gibbs

5-11, 195, Guard

Westerville, Ohio / Westerville North High School

High School Accomplishments

Rated one of the top point guards in the State of Ohio.

A four-year letterwinner for Coach Kevin Thuman.

Named MVP of the Play 4 Cancer Shootout earlier this season.

Earned all-district, all-conference and all-state honors following his sophomore season.

Twice named MVP of the Ohio Nike City Series.

Serves as a Junior Mentor and a member of the Superintendent’s Advisory Council.

Andrew McAuliffe

6-8, 225, Forward

Northbrook, Ill. / Glenbrook North High School

High School Accomplishments

Four-year letterwinner.

Averaging 18.0 points and 5.8 rebounds per game this season.

Has helped Glenbrook North to three straight division titles.

Earned all-conference honors following the 2010-11 season.

Named team Most Valuable Player for Coach David Weber in 2010-11.

A two-time Thanksgiving Tournament all-tournament selection.

Also named the Thanksgiving Tournament MVP in 2010.

Davidson returns to action Jan. 11 when it travels to Furman for a 4:30 p.m. tip at Timmons Arena.
