Lynda Cashion Daniels

MOORESVILLE – Lynda Cashion Daniels, 69, died Sept. 21, 2013, at Novant Health Charlotte.

She was born April 28, 1944, in Mooresville, to the late F. Doyle and Marquerite Brantley Cashion.

Daniels retired from Davidson College after 50 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Faye Jacques.

Survivors include her husband, George; daughter, Marquerite Kathleen Ames and husband, Mark; sisters, Carol Cooke and husband, Vichard, and Betty Walley; brother, Phillip Cashion and wife, Peggy; and one granddaughter.

Funeral services were held Sept. 23 at Centre Presbyterian Church.

Daniel Francis Saltrick PIC

CORNELIUS – Daniel “Dan” Francis Saltrick, 74, died Sept. 21, 2013, at Levine and Dickson Hospice House.

He was born June 21, 1939, in Uniontown, Pa., to the late Charles and Mary Krynak Saltrick.

Saltrick was a teacher, curriculum writer, principal and director of environmental studies in Prince George’s County, Mass. He was assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and the president of Instruction Accountability Services.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores Sica Saltrick; sons, Daniel and wife, Margaret, and Eric and wife, Kimberly of Huntersville; daughter, Jamie Gordon and husband, David; brothers, Charles and Paul; sisters, Mary Kay, Theresa and Agatha; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sept. 26 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church.

Jack Ray Griffin

CORNELIUS – Jack Ray Griffin “Skipper”, 63, died Sept. 19, 2013, at Carolinas Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 8, 1949, in Greenwood, S.C., to Doris “Irene” Powell and the late Jack Griffin.

Griffin retired from Sanofi Pharmaceuticals.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Marie.

Survivors include his mother; wife, Pia; son, Brent Griffin and wife, Tara; daughters, Jacqueline Griffin and Jennifer Sadowski and husband, Joe; stepdaughter, Crystal Shea and husband, Trevor, and Anita Munn; sister, Sandra Napierala and husband, Ralph; and nine grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Waterfront Hall in Jetton Park, 1900 Jetton Road, Cornelius, NC 28031.

Lawrence Carroll Moore (FLAG)

HUNTERSVILLE – Lawrence “Red” Carroll Moore, 89, died Sept. 18, 2013.

He was born July 7, 1924, to the late Earl and Stella Moore.

Moore was a World War II veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Rastus Moore; and three siblings.

Survivors include his son, Stephen Moore and wife, Lisa; daughter, Carol Lesley and husband, David; sister, Katie King; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sept. 23 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
