Pauline Hoover Kidd

HUNTERSVILLE – Pauline Hoover Kidd, 97, died Nov. 6, 2013.

She was born Feb. 5, 1916, to the late Doras Avery Hoover and Iola Jane Howard Hoover.

Kidd was a bookkeeper for Major Appliances in Charlotte for 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, J.P. Warren.

Survivors include her husband, William Puett Kidd.

Funeral services were held Nov. 9 at Hopewell Presbyterian Church.

Richard Gregory Sanderson

HUNTERSVILLE – Richard “Dick” Gregory Sanderson, 62, died Nov. 6, 2013.

He was born May 20, 1951, in Morristown, N.J., to the late Richard Gregory Sanderson Sr. and Vivian Veader Sanderson.

Sanderson worked as a land planner for the Palm Beach County planning and zoning department, as a landscape architect for Land Design in Charlotte and as a partner at Environmental Design in Cornelius for more than 15 years.

Survivors include his wife, Dawn Dickens Sanderson; daughters, Amy Sanderson and Melissa Chandler and husband, Carter; son, Richard Gregory Sanderson III; brother, Robert Sanderson and wife, Lupe; and sister, Arleen Bridenbaker and husband, Bruce.

Rachel Joy Bagwell

HUNTERSVILLE – Infant Rachel Joy Bagwell, died Nov. 5, 2013.

Survivors include her parents, Molly Collins Bagwell and Lonnie Bagwell; brothers, Colin and Liam; and grandparents, Lonnie and Donna Bagwell and James and Patricia Collins.

Kenneth Edward Brown

DAVIDSON – Kenneth Edward Brown, 75, died Nov. 4, 2013.

He was born May 6, 1938, in Iredell County, to the late Robert Edward and Alma Call Brown.

Survivors include his wife, Kay Query Brown; sons, Mark and wife, Cheryl and Roger and wife, Karen; daughter, Julie Wally and husband, Tim of Davidson; and seven grandchildren.

Burnice Alderman Herring

HUNTERSVILLE – Burnice Alderman Herring, 82, died Nov. 3, 2013.

He was born Dec. 15, 1930, in Philadelphia, Pa.

Herring was a U.S. Marine veteran and retired from the CIA in Langley, Va., after 31 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia Lee Herring; daughters, Cheryl White of Huntersville, Vikki Pier, Christi Martin, Danna Larsen, Ronna MacBeth and Tara Elder; son, Sean Herring; sister, Joyce Stewart; 25 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

John Dobbins Kelton

DAVIDSON – John Dobbins Kelton, 86, died Nov. 2, 2013.

He was born Sept. 15, 1927, in Mount Pleasant, Tenn., to the late Floyd Max Kelton and Mary Hume Kelton.

Kelton was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a professor of psychology and taught at UNC-Chapel Hill, The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and Davidson College. He retired from Davidson as executive assistant to the president.

Survivors include his wife, Paula; son, David and wife, Bunny; daughters, Cissy Byrd and husband, Rich and Mary Bridges and husband, Byron; sisters, Mary Grisso and husband, Lee and Ann Krotchko and husband, David; seven grandchildren: and one great-grandson.

Dennis J. McManus

CORNELIUS – Dennis J. McManus, 72, died Nov. 2, 2013.

He was born May 28, 1941, in Wooster, Ohio, to the late Joseph and Gladys McManus.

McManus was a U.S. Army veteran.  He worked for Continental Tire and retired from Griffith Brothers.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brian.

Survivors include his wife Carol; daughter, Leisa Slensby; brothers, Roger and Terry; sister, Kathleen Trimble; and two grandchildren.

Robert James Steager

DAVIDSON – Robert James Steager, 72, died Nov. 2, 2013.

He was born Oct. 23, 1941, in Bethlehem, Pa., to the late Beron and Janet Goth Steager.

Steager was a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired crane operator.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Weil Steager; son, Brian and wife, Michelle; sister, Nancy Borges; brothers, Larry and Donald Steager; and one grandson.
