MOORESVILLE – The Jewish Council of Lake Norman will put on a community Hanukkah celebration.
Light the menorah, spin the dreidel and celebrate this festival of light. The evening will include a buffet dinner, latkes, songs, games and crafts.
The first night of Hanukkah began Nov. 27. The eight-day ceremony celebrates the rededication of the temple in Jerusalem during the Maccabean Revolt against the Seleucid Empire in the 2nd century BCE. Families light the menorah to announce the miracle of the triumph of the few against the many.
The community event will be held 6:30-9 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Charles Mack Center, 215 Main St. Admission costs $10 for adults. Children get in free.
RSVP to Randee Lerner at email@example.com by Nov. 30.
