CORNELIUS – Showcasing the talent of 65 artists from around the Lake Norman area, "Home Grown" features ceramics, photographs, paintings, drawings, prints and sculptures.
According to Curator Jen Crickenberger, the show's opening attracted 250 gallery visitors. Three pieces from the show will be selected for a mural project for the front of Oak Street Mill.
The free exhibit is open to the public 9 a.m.-5p.m. Mondays-Thursdays and 9 a.m.-noon Fridays-Saturdays through Jan. 3 at the Cornelius Art Center, 19725 Oak St.

Next month's exhibit features Amy Sanders' ceramic art exhibit, "Red Earth Textural Forms." Her work stretches the limits of clay through layering, stamping and quilting captivating sculptural forms.
An opening reception will take place 6:30-9 p.m. Jan. 10, 2014. The public is also welcome to attend an artist demonstration to learn how Sanders works with clay 1-4 p.m. Jan. 11. Admission costs $25.
