DAVIDSON – Scott’s Tree Farm has been selling trees all December, contributing to the Christmas traditions of families all over Lake Norman.

The lot, located at 602 Griffith St., also sells garland, wreaths, tree stands, tabletop trees and bows. Selling until Dec. 21, prices range from a $15 wreath to a $120 tree.

Scott’s Tree Farm exports trees from Sparta to all over the state. However, Scott’s Tree Lot returns to Davidson every year for the Christmas season.

“We chose Davidson because there’s always so much traffic down here,” employee Matthew Harless said. “It’s a great place to sell trees. Plus there’s so many businesses surrounding this area, which also makes it a great location.”

Scott Smith has hauled trees from Sparta to Davidson every winter for 15 years. After two weeks of paperwork, cutting and hauling trees, Scott’s Tree Farm sells Christmas trees, rain or shine. This dedication has had success, for the business is now selling its ninth load of trees from Sparta.

“When it comes to meeting people, every experience is just so different.” Harless said. “My favorite part is seeing all the different cars people bring to take the trees with them. Once there was a Mini Cooper, and the tree was bigger than the car itself.”
