HW 3-22 add biz brief

CORNELIUS  - Republican state Rep. Charlie Jeter will provide an overview of the 2013 legislative session in Raleigh as well as how bills will impact area communities during a presentation to Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce members 8:30-10 a.m. March 22 (today) at the chamber office, 19900 W. Catawba Avenue.

In addition, Chamber Public Policy Chairman Callan Bryan will discuss the Chamber’s 2013 Legislative Agenda.

Last week, Jeter appeared before North Carolina House committees to present a couple of bills he has sponsored. HB 186 would authorize Cornelius, Huntersville, Mooresville and Troutman to extend noise ordinances 2,500 feet from the 760 waterline on the shore of Lake Norman.

The second bill - HB 195 - would extend the authority for Cornelius to use design-build methods. Jeter is also expected to discuss the issue of toll lanes on Interstate 77.
