A near-collision March 12 between a Davidson Police car and a white pickup truck led to $10,000 in damages to one of Davidson's patrol cars.

The police car spun off the road west of Beatties Ford Road in Huntersville at 6:22 p.m., acccording to Huntersville Deputy Police Chief Michael Kee. The car and truck never made contact, but the truck's sudden turn onto N.C. 73 forced the police car to take evasive action. It collided with a mailbox and hit a storm drain before coming to rest off the road.

Kee said no one has been cited as a result of the accident.
