Veterinary hospital opens in Cornelius next month

 

CORNELIUS  - Main Street Veterinary Hospital, owned by Drs. Lori Hoe and Amanda Goodwin, will hold a grand opening at 8 a.m. April 15 at 20306 N. Main Street in Cornelius.

The hospital is hosting a Family Fun Day / Community Open House with Mugs the Mascot from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. April 27. Residents are asked to bring pets and children, who will be able to perform Teddy Bear Surgery on their own stuffed animals.   
The full service veterinary hospital, which will provide preventative care, internal medicine, surgical care, dentistry and puppy kindergarten, includes a state-of-the-art laboratory and digital x-rays for on-site medical evaluations and treatment.

The facility will be open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8 a.m.-noon Saturday.  
 

Hoe is a graduate of Penn State University and a summa cum laude graduate of the Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine.  A practicing veterinarian in Lake Norman for six years, she lives in Huntersville with her husband David, and their two young sons, Zachary and Hunter, Golden Retriever, Bailey and house cat, Emma.

Goodwin completed an apprenticeship at the Cleveland Zoo while an undergraduate at Case Western Reserve University before earning a doctorate of veterinary medicine from Ohio State University.

 She has been practicing veterinary medicine in the Lake Norman area since 2008 and resides in Lake Norman with her fiancé, Michael, their two retired racing greyhounds, Lydia and Caleb, a rescued beagle-mix, Furn and their three-legged cat, Lucy.

Law firm, funeral home host life and death planning workshop

 

DAVIDSON  - The McIntosh Law Firm and Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home will hold a free workshop 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. April 30 at Grace Covenant Church in Cornelius.

Titled “Are Your Ducks In a Row?” the session will focus on topics to help individuals and families help improve their overall assets, final wishes and security.

Specific topics will include estate planning, protection of assets, preventing identity theft, and physical security for yourself and home. Speakers will include attorneys, advance planning funeral directors, financial advisors, police officers, and Caroline Farmer from the North Carolina Department of Justice.

Huber announces appointment of regional sales director 

HUNTERSVILLE  - Huber Technology has announced hat Chris Hubbard has joined the comapany as the northeast region sales manager.

Hubbard replaces Frank Scriver, who was recently promoted, and will oversee all sales operations in the northeast United States and eastern Canada. 

Huntersville esthetician receives top state honor

CHARLOTTE  - Nadirah Holmes Banks, an esthetician at Massage Envy Spa in Huntersville, has been named Massage Envy Esthetician of the Year for the North Carolina region.
