'Dinner at Davidson' raises fund for Trust

DAVIDSON – Davidson College students invite the public to “Dinner at Davidson,” the fourth edition of their annual effort to raise money for the college’s financial aid programs. This year’s event on April 6 will feature a new format that offers participants three levels of involvement.

Everyone is invited to attend an 8 p.m. production in Duke Family Performance Hall of a student play titled “Trust: The Play.”

There is no specific admission charge to attend, but donations will be accepted.

For $1,000 per guest, participants can enjoy a pre-dinner reception hosted by college President Carol Quillen in her home beginning at 5 p.m.

Those guests, plus others who donate $100 per person, will be invited to the naming event, a literal “Dinner at Davidson” which will be served at 6:30 p.m.

Students will also be raising money through an online auction beginning on March 31. Auction items will include vacation homes and premiere seating at commencement, as well as a number of experiences with alumni in their professions.

All money raised will support the Davidson Trust.

Last year’s event raised $50,000, enabling scholarships for two members of the Class of 2016.
