Milan La'Shea Sherry Little

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Funeral services for Milan La’Shea Sherry Little, infant, were held April 2, 2013, at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home.

She died March 29 at Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital in Columbia, S.C.

Little was born Sept. 3, 2012, in Augusta, Ga., to Jared Michael and Tricia Terribile Little.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Charles Terribile.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother, Kaden D'Ante Little; sister, Jaida MacKenzie Little; paternal grandparents, Gordon and Beatrice Little of Huntersville; maternal grandmother, Donna Terribile of Millersville Md.; paternal great-grandmother, Sylvia Brown; maternal great-grandmother, Evelyn Johnson; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Carolyn Barnette Robbins

CORENLIUS – Funeral services for Carolyn Barnette Robbins, 78, were held April 1, 2013, at Bethel Presybterian Church.

She died March 20 at Presbyterian Hospital in Huntersville.

Born Jan. 2, 1935, in Mooresville, she was a daughter of the late Charles Graham and Ida Eugene Torrence Barnette.

Robbins was retired from Foamex in Cornelius, where she worked in the payroll department.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Dwight Torrence and Charles Barnette Jr. and sister, Mary Taylor Howard.

Survivors include her husband, Dwight C. Robbins Sr.; children, Dwight C. Robbins Jr. of Huntersville, Edna R. Johnson and husband, Junior, of Mooresville and Mark B. Robbins and wife, Kim, of Huntersville; brothers, Richard “Dick” and Dennis “Tom” Barnette; sisters, Dorothy Caldwell, Lib Ammons and Wilma Plyler; grandchildren, Jeremy Johnson and wife, Megan, Noah Johnson and wife, LeAnne, Whitney and Cody Robbins and Josh Hedgecoe; and great-grandchild, Peyton.

Martha Jane Fortner McInnis

DAVIDSON – Funeral services for Martha Jane Fortner McInnis, 72, were held March 24, 2013, at Davidson United Methodist Church.

She died March 21 at Peak Resources in Charlotte.

McInnis was born Dec. 9, 1940, in Mooresville, to the late James Withers Fortner and Mary Madge Malcolm Fortner.

She was a manager for the S.I.M. Company as well as a member of MENSA.

Along with her parents and husband, McInnis was preceded in death by her brother, Ted Withers Fortner Sr.

Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Lynn Bullock Ginsburg and her husband, Brian, of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, James Steven Tyler, Ava Reece, Ashlynn Paige and Aiden Scott Ginsburg; sister, Jean Fortner Ward; sister-in-law, Joey Davis Fortner; and several nieces and nephews.

Gladys Witherspoon Smith

CORNELIUS – Funeral services for Gladys Witherspoon Smith, 84, were held March 23, 2013, at Forest Lawn West Cemetery in Charlotte.

She died March 21 at her home.

Smith was born Feb. 19, 1929, in Charlotte, to the late Melvin and Molly Dellinger Witherspoon.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her children, Pamela Smith File and husband, Grover, of Anderson, S.C., Robert Stephen Smith and wife, Nancy, and Randolph McGirt Smith and wife, Lorraine, all of Huntersville and Thomas Michael Smith of Cornelius; brothers, Charles Witherspoon of Charlotte and James Witherspoon of Greensboro; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Geraldine Ann Cyr

HUNTERSVILLE – Funeral services for Geraldine Ann Cyr, 70, will be held at a later date.

She died March 20, 2013, at Presbyterian Hospital Charlotte. 

Born March 7, 1943, in Lewiston, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Anna and Robert Latham.

She worked as an office manager at Career Connections for 22 years.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Ronald W. Cyr; daughter, Jennifer of Concord; and siblings, Barbara Plummer, Betty Blalock, Nancy Brock and David Latham.

Howard R. Jones

DAVIDSON – Funeral services for Howard R. Jones, 87, were held March 22, 2013, at The Pines.

He died March 19 at The Pines.

Jones was born July 4, 1925, in Tacoma, Wash. to the late Howard R. Jones and Catherine Ann Jones.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and had a career as a hospital administrator.

Jones was preceded in death by his daughter, Ann Brewster Jones.

Survivors include his wife Marjean Jones; daughter, Marjorie Ann Jones of Casanovia, N.Y.; and sister, Harriett Jones Ball of Huntersville.
