CORNELIUS - Now that the members of Class VXI of Leadership Lake Norman have graduated, Lake Norman Chamber board chair Wendy Moran gave them their next mission: take an active leadership role in their Lake Norman communities.

"I encourage you to take the next step and get involved, take an active leadership role in our community," she told the graduates during their May 14 graduation ceremony at the Peninsula Club.

Moran's comments came along with words from Terri Bennett, chairman of the 2012-2013 Leadership Program, who along with Chamber President Bill Russell, presented the graduates with their certificate of completion.

Sabrena Fernandez, a graduate of this year’s program, was selected chairman of the 2013-2014 program.
