MOORESVILLE – Langtree Charter Academy and Cabarrus Charter Academy will hold public lotteries on May 8 at the Charles Mack Citizens Center located at 215 N. Main St. in Mooresville.  Langtree Charter Academy received nearly 1900 applications for 661 available seats.  Cabarrus Charter Academy received more than 1600 applications for 661 available seats.

Each grade level lottery for Langtree Charter will be as follows:

Kindergarten – 8 a.m.

Grade 1 – 9 a.m.

Grade 2 – 9:30 a.m.

Grade 3 – 10 a.m.

Grade 4 – 10:30 a.m.

Grade 5 – 11 a.m.

Grade 6 – 11:30 a.m.

Each grade level lottery for Cabarrus Charter will be as follows:

Kindergarten – 1 p.m.

Grade 1 – 2 p.m.

Grade 2 – 2:30 p.m.

Grade 3 – 3 p.m.

Grade 4 – 3:30 p.m.

Grade 5 – 4 p.m.

Grade 6 – 4:30 p.m.

Parents are invited, but not required to attend the lottery. Results will be posted on the website at langtreecharter.org for Langtree and cabarruscharter.org for Cabarrus. An official offer will be extended to selected applicants via letter, email or phone call. They will have seven days starting from their offer date to accept or decline their offer. If they do not respond within the timeframe, the offer will be rescinded and the seat will be offered to the next person on the waiting list.
