DAVIDSON – The public is invited to join the Davidson Police Department from 5-7 p.m., August 6 at Roosevelt Wilson Park to celebrate National Night Out.

National Night Out is an annual crime prevention and community-building event, sponsored by the Davidson Police Department and North Mecklenburg Crime Stoppers to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-citizen partnerships and neighborhood cohesiveness.

“We value our partnership with our citizens who work with us to keep Davidson the safe place that it is to work, live and raise a family,” said Chief Jeanne Miller.

The Brickhouse Tavern is providing hot dogs and hamburgers, Harris Teeter is supplying water, and Homewood Suites is also making contributions for the cook-out. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to share.

The event is free to attend.
