HUNTERSVILLE – Matt Kenseth will get the chance to win his second straight NASCAR Nationwide Series race Feb. 22 at Daytona International Speedway.
Kenseth captured the Subway Jalapeño 250 in July with GameStop sponsorship, but he’ll be driving the No. 20 Reser’s Fine Foods Toyota this time around.
Reser’s announced a seven-race sponsorship for Kenseth’s Joe Gibbs Racing car on Jan. 22. GameStop also renewed its contract with JGR for the 2014 Nationwide season.
“They are tremendous partners, and I am looking forward to working with (crew chief Kevin Kidd),” Kenseth said. “Hopefully, we can provide a few celebrations for each of them in victory lane this season.”
Kenseth’s 2013 Nationwide season was his best in years. He hadn’t made a start in the series since 2011, when he was a member of Roush-Fenway Racing, but the Wisconsin native showed no rust.
He tallied two wins, seven top-fives and 14 top-10s in his first 16 Nationwide races under JGR’s banner. Kenseth was the only JGR driver other than Kyle Busch to win last season.
Kenseth also won seven Sprint Cup races and finished second in series standings.
This year, he’ll pair with Busch, Elliott Sadler and Sam Hornish Jr. to win Nationwide races. Kenseth’s Sprint Cup teammates will be Busch and Denny Hamlin.
Kenseth will drive 10 additional Nationwide races with sponsorship from GameStop. Sadler will be the only JGR driver to run a full season.
