DAVIDSON – Carolinas HealthCare System will open an urgent care location within Davidson Clinic, providing primary and urgent care services in a shared location at 705 Griffith St.
Carolinas HealthCare Urgent Care in Davidson begins seeing patients Jan. 10. Urgent care services will be available seven days a week 8 a.m.-8 p.m. with no appointment necessary.
“Families need access to quality medical care when their physician is not available, and our first urgent care in Davidson will help fill this need,” said Stephen Jones, vice president of Carolinas HealthCare System Medical Group’s urgent care division. “And as an added value to our community, we’re providing both urgent care and primary care in one location to increase convenience for our patients.”
The new urgent care will have three exam rooms and a treatment room within Davidson Clinic. It will feature digital X-rays and will be a chartless facility, using electronic medical records to store patient information and provide easy communication with physicians at other Carolinas HealthCare System facilities in case follow-up care or treatment is needed.
Carolinas HealthCare System’s urgent care locations provide a range of services for urgent medical issues, including treatment for sore throats, earaches, bronchitis, colds, flu, and upset stomach; care for cuts and burns; treatment for minor injuries such as sprains, strains and fractures; and physicals for school, sports, camp and work.
Davidson Clinic will continue to provide pediatric and family medicine services. The clinic will continue to operate 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays for routine visits.
