HUNTERSVILLE – Ronnie Allen Monk Jr., 46, died Feb. 2, 2014, at his home.

He was born June 17, 1967, in Gaston County, to Mary Helen Johnson Ormsby and the late Ronnie Monk.

Survivors include his mother; sisters, Jennifer and Amanda Ormsby; and brother, Gene Monk.

Funeral services were held Feb. 8 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

Elizabeth Ann Caton Painter

HUNTERSVILLE – Elizabeth “Beth” Ann Caton Painter, 52, died Feb. 2, 2014.

She was born June 22, 1961, in Marshall, Mo., to Elsie Hanlin Caton and the late D. Edward Caton.

Survivors include her mother; husband, Les; stepfather, Lawrence Allen; six brothers; and four sisters.

Concetta Pezzino D’Adamo

CORNELIUS – Concetta “Connie” Pezzino D’Adamo, 89, died Jan.31, 2014, at Huntersville Oaks.

She was born March 16, 1924, in Newark, N.J., to the late Filippo and Concetta Pezzino. She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio D'Adamo; daughter, Diane Tuffy; and brother, Sal Pezzino.

Survivors include her son, Anthony D'Adamo and wife, Mary; daughter, Celeste Burkart and husband, Robert of Huntersville; brother, Phillip Pezzino; sister, Theresa Heberling; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Feb. 5 at Bethel Presbyterian Church.

Charles Moffitt Lineberry

DAVIDSON – Charles “Chuck” Moffitt Lineberry, 85, died Jan. 31, 2014.

He was born Jan. 3, 1929, in Charlotte, to late Bessie Moffitt Lineberry and Stanhope Lineberry,

Lineberry was a U.S. Air Force Band veteran and worked for Old Dominion Box Company and Weyerhaeuser Corrugated Boxes in Charlotte. He was the owner of Box Plants in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. 

Survivors include his wife, Betty Kell Lineberry; son, Charles Jr. and wife, Jennifer; son, Daniel Stanhope Lineberry and wife, Toni; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Feb. 4 at James Funeral Home.

Pettice M. Phillips Jr.

HUNTERSVILLE – Pettice “Phil” M. Phillips Jr., 77, died Jan. 29, 2014, at Huntersville Oaks.

He was born May 21, 1936, in Alabama, to the late Pettice M. Phillips Sr. and Inez Griffin Phillips.

Phillips was a U.S. Army veteran and a tool engineer with Bell Helicopter.

Survivors include his wife, Kay Lisle Phillips; daughters, Tammy Dorcas and husband, Mike, and Kristi Salamone and husband, John of Huntersville; and five grandchildren.

Martin Dennis Simonoff

HUNTERSVILLE – Martin Dennis Simonoff, 68, died Jan. 27, 2014, at the Pavia Hospital in Puerto Rico.

He was born Jan. 18, 1946, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Abraham and Betsy Simonoff.

Survivors include his include his partner, Cesar Rivero of Huntersville.

Graveside services were held Feb. 3 at Northlake Memorial Gardens.

Richard Eugene Bearhalter

HUNTERSVILLE – Richard “Bear” Eugene Bearhalter, 59, died Jan. 26, 2014, at Baptist Hospital.

He was born July 28, 1954, in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late Chris and Kathryn Keller Bearhalter.

Survivors include his wife Nancy Bearhalter; sons, Blake Bearhalter and wife, Erin and Adam Bearhalter; and siblings, Chris, Mary and Kim.

A celebration of life was held Feb. 1 at James Funeral Home.

James Haynes Reeves II

HUNTERSVILLE – James Haynes Reeves II, 74, died Jan. 26, 2014.

He was born June 12, 1939, to the late James H. Reeves Jr. and Carol Sims Reeves.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Butler Reeves.

Survivors include his son, James H. Reeves IV and wife, Stacey; daughter, Tina Reeves Swords and husband, Ed, and Vicki Reeves Willis; and four grandchildren.
