CORNELIUS – Mary Elizabeth Glowacki Duschnik, 95, died Feb. 13, 2014.

She was born May 16, 1918, in Buffalo, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Duschnik; and son, Ronald Duschnik.

Survivors include her son, Thomas Duschnik of Cornelius; sisters, Jean Nalejak and Jo Miller; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held in Buffalo, N.Y.

Odessa Long Sharar

HUNTERSVILLE – Odessa Long Sharar, 90, died Feb. 10, 2014.

She was born Nov. 11, 1923, in Mecklenburg County, to the late Preston and Carrie Black Long.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Bell; son, Timothy Bell; and daughter, Kathy Bell.

Survivors include her husband, Reid Sharar; step-son, Monty and wife, Linda; step-daughter, Tamara Todd and husband, James of Huntersville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held Feb. 15 at Hopewell Presbyterian Church.

Elizabeth Malc Dwyer 

CORNELIUS – Elizabeth “Beth” Malc Dwyer, 50, died Feb. 9, 2014.

She was born Feb. 9, 1964, in Painesville, Ohio, to Virginia Louise Malc Miller and the late Edward Malc.

Dwyer was a solicitor and assistant public defender for the Erie, Pa. County Council and a dependency lawyer, representing parents in matters relating to the County Office of Children and Youth.

Survivors include her mother; husband, James Joseph Dwyer III; step-daughter, Melissa Covert and husband, Marty; step-son, James Joseph Dwyer IV and wife, Ronda; step-father, William Miller; step-sisters, Claudette Miller and Kathleen Mele; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held in May.

Dexter Burwell Jordan

HUNTERSVILLE – Dexter Burwell Jordan, 98, died Feb. 8, 2014.

He was born March 15, 1915, to the late Oliver and Minnie Jordan.

Jordan was a U.S. Army Corps veteran. He owned and operated the Modern Radiator Repair Shop in Charlotte.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Brunette Jordan; and sister, Eva Jordan.

Survivors include his wife, Beulah Ferrell Jordan.

Services were held Feb. 11 at Asbury United Methodist Church.

Martha Edgerton Bullard

HUNTERSVILLE – Martha Edgerton Bullard, 91, died Feb. 7, 2014.

She was born Aug. 2, 1922, in Rosewood, to the late Michael Edgerton and Ada Blalock Edgerton.

Bullard worked as a bookkeeper in banking.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Clayton Bullard; son, Gene Bullard; and granddaughter, Gina.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Broadway and husband, Jerry of Huntersville; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services were held Feb. 9 at James Funeral Home.

Patricia Coots Aug

CORNELIUS – Patricia Coots Aug, 82, died Feb. 5, 2014.

She was born Sept. 8, 1931, in Hutchinson, Kan., to the late Russell Coots and Helen Salyers Coots.

Aug was the chief financial officer of Bruce Aug Incorporated.

Survivors include her husband, Bruce Aug; son, Bruce Aug III and wife, Donna; daughter, Stacy York; five grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held Feb. 7 at Lake Norman Baptist Church.
