HUNTERSVILLE – Frank Jazbec, 83, died March 6, 2014, at Olde Knox Commons.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty.

Survivors include his son, David Jazbec and wife, Von; and daughter, Laurie Cox and husband, Steve.

Daniel Edward Morrow

HUNTERSVILLE – Daniel “Buddy” Edward Morrow, 82, died March 2, 2014, at his home.

He was born Dec. 30, 1931, in Iredell County, to the late George and Edith Morrow.

Morrow was a U.S. Army veteran and retired as a warrant officer in the National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Morrow; son, Ricky; and grandson, Patrick.

Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Draughn and husband, Rick; brothers, William and George; and one grandson.

Graveside services were held March 5 at Bethel Presbyterian Church.

Miriam Williams Singleton

CORNELIUS – Miriam Williams Singleton, 72, died Feb. 28, 2014, at Summit Place.

She was born July 26, 1941, in Conway, S.C., to the late Ollie and Ruth Capps Williams. Singleton was a retired office manager for Singleton Heating and Air.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Vera Graham and Betty Joe Brown.

Survivors include her husband, Vance Singleton; daughter, Stephanie O’Shaughnessey and husband, Coley; brothers, Aubrey and James Williams; sisters, Olivee Cannon, Gwen Woodward, Barbara Griffin and Sandra McCracken; and two grandchildren.

Services were held March 8 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.

HUNTERSVILLE – Carter Kevin Dang, 3, died Feb. 27, 2014.

He was born April 8, 2010, in Huntersville, to Hao Chi Dang and Ann Marie Dang.

Survivors include his parents; brother, Drew; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Tuong and Nu Dang, and Mr. and Mrs. Willy and Irene Verbrugghe.

A celebration of life will be held on March 29.

HUNTERSVILLE – John Wilson Knox, 94, died Feb. 27, 2014, at Summit Place.

He was born Aug. 7, 1919, in Huntersville, to John Wilson Knox Sr. and Clara Adele Walker Knox.

Knox was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Haines Knox; sisters, Virginia Knox Long and Hilda Knox; and brothers, Rufus and Cloyd Knox.

Survivors include his son, Clarence Doyle Knox and wife, Frankie; daughter; Megan Knox Ritchie and husband, Jefferson; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. March 22 at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 19920 Bethel Church Road.

Otho Gary Lyerly

CORNELIUS – Otho Gary Lyerly, 79, died Feb. 26, 2014, at W.G. Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury.

He was born Jan. 27, 1935, in Charlotte, to the late O.J. Lyerly and Lucille Walker Lyerly.

Lyerly was a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired from the boat manufacturing industry in 1998.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Sluder Lyerly; son, Tony Scott Lyerly and wife, Lisa; and two grandsons.

Services were held March 2 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
