Jackson Martin Arnold

CHARLOTTE – Infant Jackson Martin Arnold, died March 22, 2014, at Carolinas Medical Center.

He was born to Joshua Martin Arnold and Ashley Meyers Arnold.

Survivors include his parents; paternal grandparents, Kathy Arnold of Cornelius and Marty and Lillian Arnold; maternal grandparents, Larry and Donna Broadway of Huntersville and Jeff Myer; and great-grandparents, Donald and Peggy Holliday, Juanita Prather, and Bill and Kaye Diffenderfer of Huntersville.

Cecilia Edwards Carper  

CORNELIUS – Cecilia Edwards Carper, 76, died March 22, 2014.

She was born Nov. 21, 1937, in Anson County, to the late William and Rachel Curran Judd.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Carper; son, Michael Carper and wife, Christy of Cornelius; daughters, Lori Eaddy Richardson of Cornelius and Heidi Jeffords of Huntersville; brother, William Edwards; great-aunt, Lucille Gilleland;

four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held March 26 at Grace Covenant Church.

Christine Barbee Rourk

HUNTERSVILLE – Christine Barbee Rourk, 79, died March 22, 2014, at her home.

She was born Oct. 3, 1934, in Mooresville, to the late Bural and Sarah Barbee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Woodrow Rourk; daughter, Patricia Wilson; and son, Michael Rourk.

Survivors include her son, Gary Warren Rourk and wife, Susan of Huntersville; daughter- in-law, Sandy Rourk; brother, Boyce Barbee; sister, Pauline Little; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Lynn Marie Andrews Bachofner

HUNTERSVILLE – Lynn Marie Andrews Bachofner, 65, died March 21, 2014, at Levine and Dickson Hospice House.

She was born April 2, 1948, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Robert and Loretta Andrews.

Bachofner operated a TCBY and a child-care business and worked for more than 15 years for AmeriCredit/GM Financial.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Roy.

Survivors include her husband, Brian Bachofner; sons, Brian Jr. and Michael; daughter, Dana Emery; sisters, Lee and Laurel; and five grandchildren.

Howard Richard Roberts

CORNELIUS – Howard “Howie” Richard Roberts, 81, died March 21, 2014.

He was born July 6, 1932, in Eldred, Pa., to the late Edward and Irene Bills Roberts.

Roberts worked as research director, vice-president and regional managing officer for Booz, Allen and Hamilton and at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. He was the director of scientific affairs and senior vice-president for scientific and regulatory affairs for The National Soft Drink Association in Washington, D.C.

Survivors include his wife, Marylyn Ann Morrissey Roberts; daughters, Cynthia Ann Taylor and husband, Doug, and MaryBeth Roberts and husband, Ron Modra; sons, Mark Roberts and wife, Tresa Jalot, and John Roberts and wife, Manda of Cornelius; and five grandchildren.

Patrick John Riola

HUNTERSVILLE – Patrick John Riola, 72, died March 20, 2014, at his home.

He was born July 9, 1941, in Summit, N.J., to the late John and Rose Riola.

Riola was a U.S. Army veteran. He owned and operated PJ’s Luncheonette in Summit, N.J. for 10 years and worked with Weldon Materials in Watchung, N.J. for 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John Riola.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Rossi Riola; daughters, Patricia Riola and Lisa Stanziola and husband, Dario of Huntersville; sister, Rosemary D’Ecclessis; brother, James Riola and wife, Melinda; brother-in-law, Dan Rossi; sister-in-laws, Roberta Rossi of Huntersville, and Barbara Riola; and two grandchildren.

Services will be held in Summit, N.J.
