MOORESVILLE – More than 500 Realtors will fan out April 11 to help 17 deserving homeowners with critical home repairs in Iredell and Mecklenburg counties as part of Realtors Care Day.
Volunteers will repair roofs and gutters, replace windows, paint siding an build wheelchair ramps.
Many of the homeowners are elderly or have health and physical limitations.
Volunteers will rehab a house on Patterson Avenue in partnership with Central United Methodist Church in Mooresville.
Nearly 100 companies and organizations are pitching in with financial sponsorships and in-kind donations.
Partners like Our Towns Habitat for Humanity and the Davidson Housing Coalition helped identify homeowners eligible for assistance.
Since 2009, volunteers have helped improve the lives of 130 families and had a community-wide financial impact of more than $800,000.
Realtors Care Day is an initiative of the Housing Opportunity Foundation, the charitable arm of the Charlotte Regional Realtor Association.
