Ronald Stephen Bradley

CORNELIUS – Ronald Stephen Bradley, 70, died March 29, 2014.

He was born May 13, 1943, to the late Carl Furman and Robbie Bradley.

The Marine Corps veteran worked as a civil engineer for the N.C. Department of Transportation for almost 34 years.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Knupp; and brother-in-law, Ben Snyder.

Survivors include wife, Julia Ann Bradley; daughter, Stephanie Bradley of Cornelius; brother, Gary Bradley Sr. and wife, Ruth; and sister, Shirley Snyder.

Funeral services were held April 3 in Asheville.

Max Eugene Polley

DAVIDSON – Max Eugene Polley, 85, died March 27, 2014.

He was born June 3, 1928, in South Bend, Ind.

Polley was the Davidson College religion emeritus professor, retiring after 37 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Jack Polley.

Survivors include his wife, Jacquelyn Vander Ven Polley; son, Vance Polley and wife, Deborah; daughter, Lynn Krepich and husband, Michael; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held April 1 at Davidson College Presbyterian Church.

William Thomas Braddock

CORNELIUS – William “Billy” Thomas Braddock, 62, died March 25, 2014.

He was born Sept. 5, 1951, in Mecklenburg County.

Survivors include wife, Wanda Marsh Braddock; sons, Eddie and wife, Dena, and Wesley of Cornelius; daughter, Wendy Gaffney and husband Michael; sister, Jean Little; and six grandchildren.

Peggy Jo Trexler Funderburk

HUNTERSVILLE – Peggy Jo Trexler Funderburk, 75, died March 25, 2014.

She was born Dec. 12, 1938, in Salisbury, to the late Leo and Anna Trexler.

Funderburk worked as a sales representative for Road-way Express Inc., before retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Funderburk.

Survivors include her sons, Clayton and Gregory Funderburk; daughter, Kelly Funderburk; sister, Mary Frances Hunt; and one granddaughter.

Georgia Spangler Barton

CORNELIUS – Georgia Spangler Barton, 83, died March 24, 2014.

She was born Nov. 20, 1930, in Middlesboro, Ky., to the late James and Nan Spangler.

Survivors include her husband, Dick Barton; daughters, Jane Barton McKenzie and husband, Jim, Julie Barton Richardson and husband, Scott, Jennifer Barton McClung and husband, John, and Jill Barton Mounts and husband, Jimmie; son, Adam Barton and wife, Hollie; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held March 27 at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church.

Edward Vernon Ferrell III 

CORNELIUS – Edward Vernon Ferrell III, 51, died March 23, 2014.

He was born Oct. 13, 1962, in Winston-Salem, to Sarah Ferrell and the late Edward Vernon Ferrell Jr.

Ferrell worked for Ferrell Realty Company.

Survivors include his mother; wife, Sandra Ferrell; son, Hayes Ferrell; and sister, Sarah Ferrell Sloan and husband, Lewis.

Graveside services were held March 26 at Forsyth Memorial Park.
