Marion Floyd Thompson 

HUNTERSVILLE – Marion “Chip” Floyd Thompson, 63, died March 19, 2014.

He was born May 13, 1950, in Greenville, S.C., to the late Marion Floyd and Dorothy Thompson.

Thompson worked as a partner with Sharin’ Foodservice and was the regional sales manager with Chandler Foods.

Survivors include his wife, Sabra Wilkinson Thompson; daughters, Sabra Elizabeth and Ashley Shannon; son, James Marion; sister, Elizabeth Carroll and husband, Roland; father-in-law, James Wilkinson and wife, Nancy; mother-in-law, Sabra Diann Wilkinson; and sister-in-law, Shannon Wilkinson.

Funeral services were held March 28 at Mt Zion United Methodist Church.

Martin L. Howard  PIC

CORNELIUS – Martin “Skip” L. Howard, 83, died March 16, 2014.

He was born Oct. 21, 1930, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to the late Martin and Margaret Zender Howard.

Howard was a retired building engineer for Tampa Bay Orthopedic Specialists.

Survivors include his wife, Irene K. Dunne Howard; daughter, Jill McDowell and husband, Mark of Cornelius; three sisters; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held March 21 at St. Mark Catholic Church.

Allan Harry Marquart

HUNTERSVILLE – Allan Harry Marquart, 83, died March 16, 2014, at Novant Health-Charlotte.

He was born April 5, 1930, in Buffalo, N.Y., to the late Frederick and Martha Koehler Marquart.

Marquart was an employee and blast furnace superintendent at Republic Steel in Buffalo, N.Y., for 32 years.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Pettitt Marquart; sons, Keith Allan Marquart and wife Jackie, Scott Allan Marquart and wife, Virginia, David Allan Marquart and wife, Julie, and Bruce Allan Marquart and wife, Stacy; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Helen Louise Windsor Jacobs

CORNELIUS – Helen Louise Windsor Jacobs, 90, died March 15, 2014, at Novant Health-Huntersville.

She was born Jan. 24, 1924, in Greensboro, to the late John Sherman Windsor and Mary Catherine Yarbrough Windsor.

Jacobs retired as a sales representative for Sun Beam Appliance Company.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Sidney Jacobs; brothers, Wilbur, John and William Windsor; and sisters, Mary Sue Young, Florence Linder and Mildred King.

Survivors include her son, Stephen Jacobs and wife, Martha of Cornelius; brother, C. Fraley Windsor and wife, Mildred; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

James Richard Morgan

CORNELIUS – James Richard Morgan, 75, died March 15, 2014, at Novant Health-Huntersville.

He was born Sept. 17, 1938, in Watertown, N.Y., to the late Theodore and Margaret Mae Austin Morgan.

Morgan was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Janet West.

Survivors include his daughter, Kristin Guissari and husband, Steven of Cornelius; and two grandchildren.

Marjorie Carlson Evans

DAVIDSON – Marjorie Carlson Evans, 95, died March 14, 2014.

She was born Aug. 8, 1918, in Felton, Minn., to the late Eddie and Lilly Carlson.

Evans was a retired teacher.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin B. Evans; sister, Ruth Vahl; and brothers, Walter and Richard Carlson.

Survivors include her daughters, Rebecca Carlson-Evans, Julie Hoffman and husband, Mark, and Marnie Reber and husband, Fred; six grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters.
