John Andrew Glenn III

CORNELIUS – John Andrew Glenn III, 56, died April 22, 2014.

He was born Jan. 10, 1958, in Winston-Salem, to the late John and Betsy Glenn. 

Glenn owned ExecuTrain of the Carolinas from 1986 to 1996 and was a Realtor in the Lake Norman area. 

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Neal Glenn Nawaz. 

Survivors include his son, John Andrew Glenn IV of Cornelius; and sisters, Beth Glenn Snow and Sandra Glenn Alderman.

Graveside services were held privately.

Michael Thomas Wilson

HUNTERSVILLE – Michael Thomas Wilson, 54, died April 22, 2014.

He was born Nov. 23, 1959, in Princeton, W.Va, to Patricia Ann Wilson and the late Thomas Wilson.

Dr. Wilson was a dentist in the Lake Norman area for 22 years.

Survivors include his mother; wife, Kim; sons, Mike and Andrew of Huntersville, and Nick; brother, Mark Wilson; and sister, Tamera Scurry.

Funeral services were held April 26 at Lake Norman Baptist Church.

Melvin Edward Yates Jr.

HUNTERSVILLE – Melvin “Mel” Edward Yates Jr., 67, died April 22, 2014.

He was born in Greensboro, to the late Melvin and Dorothy Yates.

Yates was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and worked for SunGard Trust Systems.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine; sons, Chris and wife, Jennifer, and Scott and wife, Susan; step-children, Heather and Alex Triplette; sister, Sarah Martha Hamm; mother-in-law, Blanche Falkenberry; and three granddaughters.

A memorial service was held April 26 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home.

Chalma Grace Smith

HUNTERSVILLE – Chalma Grace Smith, 70, died April 20, 2014.

She was born Oct. 26, 1943, in Grand Junction., Colo., to the late Douglas and Mildred Booth.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Alan Booth.

Survivors include her husband, Steve; sons, Phillip and wife, Audrey, and Stephen; sister, Norma Lind and husband, Alfred; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held April 24 at Chapman Memorial Baptist Church.

Peggy Frazier Mozeley

CORNELIUS – Peggy Frazier Mozeley, 78, died April 16, 2014.

She was born Aug. 8, 1935, in Mecklenburg County, to the late George and Mattie Frazier.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray C. Mozeley; and siblings, George Frazier Jr., Jimmy Frazier and Dale Quinn.

Survivors include her daughters, Suzan Bowers and husband, Neal Hamilton, Lisa Wallace and husband, Ricky, Darla Hudson and husband, Kurt; sisters, Betty Wicker and husband, Jim, Delores Rathbone and husband, Bob, Pam Meadows and husband, Ronnie and Cheryl Whitlow and husband Vernon; brother, Dean Frazier and wife, Patti; one grandson; and three step-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held April 19 at Davidson United Methodist Church.
