Westport Parade to hand out awards
DENVER – The Westport Fourth of July Parade begins at 10 a.m. July 4 at Fairview United Methodist Church and ends at the Episcopal Church of St. Peter by-the-Lake with an awards ceremony.
Prizes will go to best decorated float, tricycle (up to age 6), bicycle (ages 7-13), costume (boy and girl up to age 13), skateboarder, automobile and pet, among others.
Children can also play on a giant slide and jumpy house.

Lincolnton downtown festival includes parade, fireworks
LINCOLNTON – The City of Lincolnton and Lincoln County Parks and Recreation are organizing a free festival, parade and fireworks on the Fourth of July.
The festival starts at 6:30 p.m. at the 100 block of North Academy Street. It will include children’s activities, such as a rock-climbing wall, face painting, inflatable slides and a hula-hoop competition.
The parade begins at 8:30 p.m. at the corner of Seder and East Main streets. Participants will line up at the Fifth Third Bank parking lot.
Fireworks start at 9:45 p.m. at Lincolnton High School.
