UPDATE (11:28 a.m. July 20): The Silver Alert for Fred Paul Ward has been canceled at the request of CMPD, according to the NC Center for Missing Persons.

RALEIGH – The N.C. Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert at 1:20 a.m. July 20 for a missing endangered man, identified as Fred Paul Ward, who was last seen at 9420 Midas Springs Road.

Officials say Ward is suffers from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

Ward’s wife told the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department that she left her husband at home as she went to a store at 6:30 p.m. July 19. When she returned home at 8 p.m., her husband and his 1992 Honda Accord were gone.

Ward, 73, stands at 6 feet tall and weighs 175 pounds. He has white hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing a Harley Davidson ball cap, beige and black Harley Davidson polo shirt, and blue jeans.
